It Started at Ground Zero.​

It all started at 8:46am on Sept 11th, 2001 when American Airlines Flight #11 struck the North Building of the World Trade Center between the 92nd and 96th floors. Everything changed.

​

Since 9/11 more than 6000 US service members have been Killed in Action and 60,000 have been severely injured, all for the purpose of keeping the rest of us safe. Our indebtedness for their sacrifice is great, our gratitude even greater.

​

The all-volunteer Independence Fund was started in 2007 as an attempt to demonstrate that gratitude in a meaningful way. Run entirely by combat veterans, the fund's mission is to provide the tools, therapies and guidance that those veterans severely injured in the War on Terror that they otherwise are not receiving. To date we have provided more than $12M in direct support to these heroes.

This year will be the fifth time that entertainer Gary Sinise has performed a pro bono benefit concert for the fund, perhaps the greatest endorsement of our mission that we can ask for. This year we need you to be a part of it as well.
