Caregiver Retreat

There is no better way to show your love of and support for our Veterans than to do it in person.

Join us at one of these Independence Fund Events!

The Lt. Dan Weekend

Filmed in the South Carolina Lowcountry, the character of Lt. Dan, played by Oscar-nominated actor Gary Sinise in the film Forrest Gump, has come to symbolize the recovery process of today's war wounded. This week long community-based event, which begins in Beaufort, SC, closes with a concert in North Charleston, SC performed by the Lt. Dan Band and is attended by thousands! The INDY Fund is now producing this event for its 5th consecutive year!

Tickets are available at the North Charleston Coliseum Advance Ticket Office, Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets (including select Publix grocery stores), or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

Low Country Golf Week

In the Lowcountry, golf is more than a sport; it is a way of life. The Healing Heroes Golf Week provides the Independence Fund with the perfect means to capitalize on this and bring more than fifty severely injured veterans and caregivers together in a forum that extends far beyond the links.

The Independence Fund has a 100% volunteer staff and a Board of Directors comprised entirely of combat Veterans. Our organization's administrative costs in 2013 were less than 1%, meaning more than 99% of every dollar we received went directly to a Veteran -
thanks to amazing people and communities like YOU!
